Trained at the École du Nord in Lille (Authors Course), Lucas Samain works with authors including Tiphaine Raffier, Christophe Pellet, Pauline Peyrade and Sonia Chiambretto. For the Year 5 graduation show of the École du Nord, he created an acclaimed adaptation of Le Pays lointain (Un arrangement) by Jean-Luc Lagarce, staged by Christophe Rauck, created by the Théâtre du Nord and subsequently performed at the Festival d’Avignon. He collaborated with Christophe Rauck on the dramaturgy for the shows Départ Volontaire, La Faculté des Rêves, Dissection d’une chute de neige, and Richard II, created in July 2022 at the Festival d’Avignon. He has also worked as a playwright with Tiphaine Raffier on France-Fantôme, La réponse des Hommes and Némésis. The Odéon-Théâtre de l’Europe commissioned him to produce an abridged version of La réponse des Hommes by Tiphaine Raffier to perform in secondary schools in the Île-de-France region, Rassurer les inquiets, which he also staged. After a tour of France, the show was revived for the 23/24 season of the Théâtre de l’Odéon.
