L’AUTRE SCÈNE
The second part of the Season, is all the artistic proposals apart from the performances ath Theater Nanterre-Amandiers and with our partners.
LA COLLECTE
Artists and authors crisscross the city, investigating, collecting testimonies and stories from the inhabitants of Nanterre. From this material, they create, manufacture, arrange texts, workshops or simple appointments.
SPECTACLES EN BALADE
These are travelling shows in Nanterre and elsewhere that take us where theatre does not usually go (media libraries, community centres, youth or association centres, prisons, schools, etc.).
EVENT S: AFTERSHOWS, MEETINGS, DEBATES, READINGS, SCREENINGS…
These are events that are built throughout the season, echoing the shows or current events and developed hand in hand with our partners.
In collaboration with the associated playwrights of the Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers : Penda Diouf, Claudine Galéa, Christophe Pellet, Constance de Saint Rémy and Noham Selcer.
Five years ago, in the wake of the “Yellow Vests” grassroots protest movement, which emerged in late 2018, French President Emmanuel Macron invited the French people to voice their criticisms and aspirations in “grievance registers” opened in town halls. What came of it? Nothing.
The texts fell on deaf ears.
To bring them to life and keep the memory of the Yellow Vests alive, Christophe Rauck commissioned five writers to explore the ideas documented in Nanterre’s grievance registers. Their fictional texts will be available for one weekend at the Théâtre des Amandiers.

From one school to another, from Lille (École du Nord) to Nanterre (La Belle troupe des Amandiers), three cohorts of actors directed by Christophe Rauck set off on a journey. With Europe or France as their playground, they go their separate ways, alone, without a mobile phone. The short theatrical forms or “travel sketches” that emerged from these adventures have been turned into shows that bring some of their itinerant stories to Nanterre and beyond. Travelling solo performers, fuelled by youthful zeal, they share tales of the world’s beauty and the wonders of travel and their sometimes harsh realities.

What are the dreams of young people in Nanterre ? From the “Tours Nuages” tower blocks to the neighbourhood of “Le Petit Nanterre”, between skyscrapers and the earth, what does the future hold?
A daily witness to the talent and creativity of the young people of Parc Sud, Nicolas Sene, a filmmaker and coordinator of the Espace jeunesse Picasso, leads some twenty teenagers onto the stage of the Amandiers.
They tell their stories in a whirlwind of images, theatre and dance.
After dedicating three years to leading read-aloud workshops for young students in Nanterre, the actress Anne-Sophie Robin invites them to discover the world of theatre and the stage and plants the seeds of classical and contemporary plays in their minds.

“Dans ma maison vous viendrez” is a festival held in the heart of the city. The residents of Nanterre invite members of the public into their homes to share an aspect of their lives through the art of storytelling. This year, director and choreographer Philippe Jamet has invited eight residents to share one of “Grandma’s recipes” and recount a family event that speaks to the ties woven around cooking and meals. A new kind of creative work, “Dans ma maison vous viendrez” is an opportunity to discover the stranger next door.
