L’Autre(s) scène(s) is everything that the artists offer outside of the shows. La Collecte, travelling shows, events : Aftershows DJ Sets, meetings, readings, screenings, podcast “les randonnées des amandiers”, debates …
La Collecte is a group of artists who walk through town, asking questions and collecting testimonies, stories and songs from the residents of Nanterre and the Hauts-de-Seine region. They work this material, creating, making and arranging words, workshops, performances and simple encounters.
In partnership with the Théâtre des Amandiers, rather than create a “project for Nanterre,” guest writer Sonia Chiambretto will build on her work as an artist by delving deep into the town. For this writing project, Oasis Love, she continues the exploratory work begun in two of her previous pieces: Polices ! and Tu me loves. The first questions the ambiguity of our relationship with authority and police violence; the second examines love in its broadest sense on housing estates on the outskirts of our large cities. Begun in February 2021, these speech collection laboratories in Nanterre will continue throughout the season for use in a future production. In parallel, Sonia Chiambretto has extended an invitation to Les Chichas de la pensée as part of three carte blanche events.
This project by choreographer and stage director Philippe Jamet will take shape in the town centre of Nanterre. Local residents invite the public into their homes to share something of their lives by telling stories about themselves in artistic form. For the second time Dans ma maison vous viendriez will provide local residents with the opportunity to give public performances in which they are the leading actors. This new type of creation offers locals a chance to discover the stranger next door.
Twelve young actors perform the story of a ten-hour epic, told in just over an hour. Featuring fifty characters who come and go at terrific speed in a moveable production performed beyond towns, neighbourhoods and theatres, this production was created by Simon Falguières with young actors from La Belle Troupe. Ahead of the performance of his epic, Le Nid de Cendres, in May 2023, he will create a short form to tour the local area on a bare, set-less stage, but with the costumes and accessories that have helped forge the reputation of the Théâtre des Amandiers. It will tell stories of revolt, kingdoms and tales, and of wandering through the ashes of a bygone world, youth and hope.
This is the story of an encounter. The paths of Jean Ruimi and Joël Pommerat crossed at the Maison Centrale d’Arles. Together, they laid the foundations for this unique theatrical adventure by creating Disorder of a Future Past, and then an adaptation of Marius by Marcel Pagnol. Amours (1) was performed behind closed doors. Amours (2) is being performed in the outdoors. This second part brings together fragments from three plays: La Réunification des deux Corées, Cet Enfant, Cercles / Fictions. Joël Pommerat chose to call this production Amours because “this feeling runs like a thread through every scene – either behind the scenes or out in the open.”
The Sonothèque Nomade collective invents “truant spaces” for recording and listening to songs from near and far. The artists will visit the neighbourhoods of Nanterre with their nomadic sound studio – the Kohlecteuse – and their “horned fairground instrumentarium” – the Kohlporteur. Hawkers of humanity in all its diversity, they go out to meet local residents in order to collect and share their songs. An invitation to record our multitude of voices, keep them alive and encounter those of others.
A deeply human and artistic initiative to share in the streets of Nanterre and the Nanterre-Amandiers theatre. Collections and encounters will take place in autumn 2022 and spring 2023.
