Spectacle créé le 6 novembre 2019 au Théâtre national de Bretagne, Rennes.

For this first incursion into Robert Walser’s universe, Gisèle Vienne has chosen to produce Der Teich, a long unseen play written in Swiss-German dialect. Fritz, a young boy who feels neglected by his mother, stages a pretend suicide. Based on this disquieting and uncanny argument, the performance, with Adèle Haenel as Fritz and Kerstin Daley-Baradel as the mother, immerses us in a universe where the respect of rules and their transgression come face to face in a dizzying intimacy set upon the backdrop of a quest for love.
